Issue 12 takes you inside the stories of AI and technology
For Amsterdam Light Festival 2023-2024, we asked artists
to think about the effect of technology and artificial intelligence (aka AI) on our everyday lives. How we communicate, connect and create is all influenced by technology and AI. How does this impact our humanity? How is this digital evolution changing society and society? And where are the boundaries? The different perspectives will be highlighted at Edition 12, with theme: LOADING... Revealing Art, AI and Tech.
The route consists of more than 20 light artworks by international artists. From renowned names to surprising newcomers and everything in between. A diverse selection, then. We delve into our relationship with personal tech, the mobile phone first and foremost - we can't live without it, but sometimes you want to throw that thing in the canal. Topics like swarm intelligence, self-learning algorithms, facial recognition and motion-capture are also covered.
Edition 12 is a translation of, or commentary on, that all-encompassing and ubiquitous technology that we rely on so much, that is so inseparable from our daily lives. What's to come?
The festival will take place from 30 November 2023 to 21 January 2024. The lights are on from 5pm to max 11pm (on 31 December the lights are off).
WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU ON OUR BOATS!
